Our President Mike Willis and his wife Val have been living it up recently. They entrusted the fortunes of the club to the workers and fixers that keep clubs like ours going and went on a tour to foreign parts like Australia and a cruise to Thailand (nothing trivial of course). They came back bronzed and glowing: just in time to join President Mike’s Red and Gold Evening in St Mark’s hall at Little Common. Red and gold are the colours of the county of Sussex and President Mike is nothng if not patriotic to his home county. The dress code worked very well and the splendid colour combination was adopted by most of the patrons there - and there were around fifty of them. A very pleasing feature of the evening was the entertainment provided by Just George. George sang, played guitar, moved and danced in a way that encouraged patrons to recall the days of their youth and take to the floor. There were some very good movers, who appeared to have lubricated their joints, and they kept Georgre company for most of the evening. Perhaps you couldn’t actually say “The joint was jumping”, but it was rocking with surprising vigour for a party like ours.
